Today is Friday, i just love Fridays as its a weekend the next day. I usually relax on Fridays, and i even start my cooking late in the evening after my hubby is back. HMm.. lets get back to this recipe now. Mong Dal. Mong dal is the most healthiest among all dals. And i feel it tastes really good when compared to the other dals too. It is a powerhouse in all the nutrition's and finds place in every kitchen shelves. It is easy to digest and has got many vitamins in it. I usually make this dal without onion and gg paste as i like it that way.Do try this recipe out.
Ingredients :
2 cups mong dal
2 tomatoes
2 green chillies
Ghee for seasoning
1/4 tea spoon cumin seeds
1/4 tea spoon mustard seeds
1 tbs red chilly powder
Juice of two lemons
4 cups water
Salt to taste.
Step 1 : Soak mong dal overnight in water.
Step 3 : In a cooker add mong dal with 3 cups of water. When the water comes to boil add tomatoes , green chillies and salt to it. Close the cooker. After 3 whistles put off the gas. After a while open the cooker and churn the dal well.
Step 4 : For seasoning heat ghee then add mustard and cumin seeds along with chilly powder.
When the mustard seeds stop popping put the gas off.
Step 5 : Add 1-2 cups of water in the dal along with seasoning and lemon juice and keep it on low flame for 10 Min's .
Step 6 : Garnish it with coriander leaves . Serve hot with rotis.
