Palak Paneer

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Its been so long since i have posted any recipe, i could not do it as there was some problem with my account. Now that the problem is solved i am back with many recipes. Today's dish is palak paneer. Personally speaking i don't like palak but, Rocky is health conscious and he forces me to eat it . And so i just have very little of it. Palak Panner was my second recipe that i learnt. My mom taught me this recipe, and now i am gonna let all you guys know how to make it.

Ingredients :

8 cubes of paneer
1 punch spinach
1 pinch cooking soda
Oil for cooking
1 big tomato
1 medium sized onion
2 green chillies
5-6 cashew nuts
Small of ginger
2 pods of garlic
1/4 tea spoon fenugreek leaves
1 tbs cream /malai
1/2 tbs coriander powder
1/4 tea spoon garam masala
1/2 cup water
Salt to taste.

Step 1 : Wash the spinach well, drain the water completely add cooking soda to it and mix it well.  Later keep this spinach on the gas till it boils completely.

Step 2 : Blend the boiled spinach into a fine paste and, keep it aside.

Step 3 : Grind tomatoes, onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger and cashew nuts into a fine paste.

Step 4 : Heat oil in a pan later add the grounded paste in it. Cook it  well on low flame till the raw smell vanishes. Keep stirring occasionally.

Step 5 : Till the above paste is well cooked, fry the paneer cubes in oil.

Step 6 : When the above paste is well cooked add the blended spinach to it along with water, so that the paste is  smooth enough. Let it cook on medium flame. Finally add the paneer cubes , fenugreek leaves, salt and all the dry masalas. Keep it on low flame for 10 Min's.

Step 6 :  Add 1/2 tbs of cream over it . Palak Paneer ready to eat  with hot rotis.
