I always wanted to learn authentic kinda of butter chicken . I tried out many ways but was never satisfied. Finally last evening i made it. I learnt this recipe from www.vahrehvah.com Must say it tastes simply delicious. All thanks to the Vah chef. I wish i was in India now and made this for my Bhaiya because he just loves butter chicken. Anyway you all try this and let me know how it turned out to be. Here goes the recipe
Ingredients :
250 gms boneless chicken
3/4 tbs gg paste
2 tbs red chilly powder
1 tbs coriander powder
1/2 tbs garam masala
1 big onion
1 tomato
5 cashew nuts
1/2 tbs fenugreek leaves (kasturi methi)
1 tbs butter
2 tbs heavy cream / malai
1 tbs tomato ketchup
Oil for frying
Salt to taste.
Step 1 : Chop the chicken into small pieces. Add gg paste, red chilly powder, coriander powder , salt and mix it well.
Step 2 : Heat 3/4 cup oil in a dish saute the chicken in it. Later keep the chicken aside.
Step 3 : In the same dish add chopped onion, 1/2 cup water, tomatoes, cashews nuts, salt, red chilly powder , coriander powder and fenugreek leaves. ( Add all these at once)
Step 4 : Keep this on low flame for 10 Min's so that they are well boiled. Later keep this aside for time till it cools down, then grind all this into a thin paste.
Step 5 : Heat butter in the dish add the grounded paste, water and the fried chicken . See that the gravy is very smooth enough. If it isn't add some water to it. Finally add heavy cream/malai and tomato ketchup to it. Keep it on low flame for 10 Min's.
Step 6 : Serve it with hot rotis.
